Participants engage with the speaker at the 2023 Overseas Korean Adoptees Gathering organized by the Overseas Korean Agency, a Korean government body established earlier this year to handle overseas Korean affairs, at the Grand Hyatt Seoul on Monday. Since the 1950-53 Korean War, some 200,000 Koreans born in the country have been adopted internationally. Government and nongovernmental organizations periodically run cultural exchange trips for some adoptees and their families. [YONHAP]
